Responsible approach

We focus on materials, their origins, and how they are made. Every choice is driven by durability, transparency, and respect for the people and processes behind them. The goal is simple: create objects that last and reduce the need for replacement.

Sustainability

The idea of a circular economy envisions products that are designed and optimized for a continual circle of recycling and dissembling. If picked up globally, it would be the biggest shift in human consumption since the industrial revolution.
[ Lavor Ombra works with nature – not taking from it.]

Worker in a large industrial room tossing a huge pile of raw white fiber, likely wool or cotton.

Our Looms

Lavor Ombra is constantly evolving in our quest for artisan loom constructions that uniquely combine Indian artisanship with sustainable yarns; natural Indian silks, botanical fibres and considered handspun wool blends. The result: contemporary and hybrid weaves, digital prints, jacquard, and knitting looms. Handwoven “fusion art” informed by the legacy of Khadi weaving and the Swadeshi Movement.   Our constantly evolving stable of looms are as follows :

Our Yarns

Lavor Ombra is also committed to a sustainable development of unique texture profiles; vetted & undyed wool blends, botanical yarns, indigenous silks.    We bring together intrepid harvests, with artisan spinners & weavers. Luxury traversing the four corners India.   Ludhiana acts as the premier wool exchange in India. Even though the city is geographically landlocked, national yarn and wool prices are determined via Ludhiana's local market exchanges. All of our wool yarns are sourced, handspun and blended in Ludhiana at our partner mills, unless specified otherwise.
